the last 3 months!

Where to start? Lets see....November and December seem a distant Memory, Thanksgiving and Christmas was good, and busy. Along came January...
so far this month:
I got to fly to WA and see my baby sister be adopted(totally awsome and beyond any experiance I have ever had!)
I had my 27th (eek!) birthday
My baby girl turned 3 on the 15th :)
and I have started my second semester at BC, I'm taking 15.5 units(AAAAHHHHH!)

So that about brings you current, and now an update for the last two weeks. We have had nothing but sickies around the house, I guess it goes with the territory, but MAN am I tired!! It started with Matthew getting sick, running a 103 degree fever, and ending up at the doctor for an ear infection and some antibiotics. Then I got sick for about 24 hrs, but I think it had more to do with exhaustion. Next was Samantha for 2 days with 101-102 fever and then she was well, thank goodness. Now it has moved on to Jasmen who is at the doctor as I type, Kristina who has step throat, Rob who just went in this morning with an ear infection and possiably strep, and back to matthew who although he has no fever is coughing and has a runny nose! I can't possiably express how compleatly and utterly exhausted I truly am at this point! To top off all of the fun our semester started today with my first class being at 7:50 am....yeah me!!!
On an up note, my first class of the semester was my American Sign Language class, which I am excited to be taking. My teacher seems really neat, and I think the class is going to be hard(its 5 units) but very rewarding and fun! Tomarrow night is my History of CA class, which I am NOT excited about, but it meets a requirement..sooo....I guess I'll suck it up!! I'm also takeing Intercultural Communication and Math D as well as a student development class in Feb for about 3 weeks (this is the colleges way of making you spend money to be eligable for early registration..did I mention I hate politics??)

And now onto the family....first I'll start with the birthday girl, I have a horriable feeling we have offically gone from the terriable two's to the teriffying three's as Samantha has gone about two weeks now without eating anything and is in a perpetual state of crabbiness/crankiness....at first I thought it was because she didn't feel good, and now that she is doing better I fear this is just her new dispositon for a while.....I figure it is just gettting me prepared for teenage years! She still has her sweet girl side too though. Just last week when she was sick, I was leaning over to give her a hug and I told her I was sorry that she was sick and she responded with the sweetest little voice "It's otay mommy, I will git better" it was as if she was trying to keep my from worrying about her....I swear it is those moments that keep her alive!! LOL

Matthew is doing well, he loves school, is making friends easily and is to smart for his own good! I have determined that I had irrational fears about having anyone come out and evaluate him for Aspergers, so now I am persuing that evaluation. We are still struggling with alot of communication barriers with him and the kids at home as well as with Rob and Kristina, I don't know if its just that I'm his mom or what but I seem more able to understand him and know how he is doing daily. He is just so darn smart though, sometimes I think he is to book smart, he is so intersted in Space, and Dinosaurs, and the human boday....for christmas we bought him lots of pop-up and science books and he is reading them all of the time and begging me regularly to show him pictures online of the planets and the shuttle and black holes. He is also starting to read the stage one reading books that we buy at walmart on his own, it is so funny he will sound out a whole line of words and then go back and tell me "now I want to read it" and he will read it fluently just as I would, then he will move to the seond line of words, and at the end he will go back to the begining of the page and read the whole thing straight through, its too cute!!

The hubby is the same, doing well, working his butt off for us and going to school, while he tries his hardest to support me going too....its a hard balance and frustrating for both of us, but we are trudging through~

well I guess that is all for now, I am really hoping to be back on here more soon, Blogging is such a stress relievier, but finding the time to do it seems to be so hard!!!!
Here is wishing you a happy, healthy, and productive week!

My family has a background in ASL and my sister took a few classes in college for it.. she LOVED it. our family friend took the class and actually decided she wanted to be a teacher at a school for the deaf, and that's what she does now! just got her first job :) Also.. I understand about Samantha, 3 years old had to be the WORST age for me so far with Andrew... and Kaitlynn will be there February 5th - aaaaaaahhhh! Glad to see you back in the blogging world and I hope you visit more often :)
