I love teaching my children!

We took the kids to see the new movie "Monsters vs. Aliens" today~ it by the way is great, but not the reason for my post.........
As we were sitting in the theater watching previews of other movies that are opening sometime around HALLOWEEN, one of the clips showed a school house getting coverd in an oversized pancacke, butter, and syurp and then immeadiatly panned to the group of school children. The gazes of the little movie kids changed to glee, as they all shouted " YEAH! NO SCHOOL!!" about half of the movie theater chuckled......and my son.....looks and me and very frankly asks "why would they NOT want school?"

I Love that my children love to learn, and that I get to be such an active part in them doing that!

Yesterday evening, Rob got a piece of chocolate candy out of the fridge, and Samantha asked if she could have a piece. Instead of speaking to her, (because as a typical man he had already stuffed the chocolate in his mouth) he SIGNED to her: No, You have cookie. In ASL and she immeadatly responded: " I get a cookie?? yea!!!" It amazes me how fast she is picking up sign! her use of it is still not much, but that is to be expected since she communicates 99.5% in speech, but just the fact that she is able to understand simple commands and statements is AWSOME!
